For seven weeks starting July 4th 2014 I will be in the fine country of New Zealand. Most of my time will be spent in Wellington with the studio Occupation Artist and its studio members. As the residency moves forward I will be adding to this section of my site as well as my blog. This residency has been amazing so far in that I have met more people both in and out of the jewelry practice in my short time here as well as had a few days rest after an intense year. |

This spring I was fortunate enough to receive the MBFS Emerging Artist Award in connection with Cranbrook Academy of Art where I attained my MFA in the Metalsmithing department. Part of the award granted is that I have the privilege of spending 2 months at the Künstlerhaus Behtanien in Kreuzberg, Berlin Germany. While in Germany I worked on pieces for the show Butcher, Baker, Candlestickmaker as well as some sketch/prototype work for the Open Studio event. Much of my time here can be seen in my blog but I have included some studio shots here to give you a taste of whats happening! |

The James Hotel residency
ARTIST STUDIO @ THE JAMESThe James Chicago is proud to support local and regional artists through our first-ever Artist Studio @ The James. As part of our recent hotel refresh, we were inspired to invite artists from the Midwest to create an original piece that was reviewed for induction into the hotel’s permanent collection. Partnering with leading Chicago institutions and art-insiders on an ongoing basis, the property retains impressive permanent and rotating collections. The Artist Studio selected work is the first new piece introduced to our permanent collection since the opening five years ago.
